Online translators...........................?
I'm trying to send an email to a company in Germany, and unfortunately being the uncultured ignorant twit that I am, I do not speak, understand or able to read German. I'm basically trying to be polite by using their own language, along with the original English email that I'm going to translate. I realise grammatically, the online translators are probably really poor and translate word for word but I'd like to try anyway Good idea or bad?Does anyone know if they are any good? Or know of a good, reliable one?Thanks for any advice.flogett I did consider doing that, but wasn't too keen on putting it up plus worried that I might get some jokers adding some unsavory words to my text Let's face it there are some people like that on here,

What kinds of jobs are there for english/japanese translators. What are the qualifications?
I'm living in Japan and have a JLPT 2 qualification and I'm working hard to reach level 1 by July 2010. My conversation skills are a step lower than my reading and writing skills. I am interested in translating, written stuff of course, spoken would be impossible, but I have no idea what kind of jobs are available. What are the easiest translation jobs to get as in the simplest language, not legal documents ? Will a JLPT 2 work or is a level 1 required? Also will my spoken Japanese be expected to be level with my written Japanese? I hear it's a rough field but I'm flexible, just looking for some info.

im doing an essay on Ma Ville, and im on the second paragraph, i have to write what i like to do in my town, and so far i've written A Manchester j'aime a mange aux restaurants avec ma famille. I also like to go to the local skatepark to have some fun with friends and make new friends.and i want to write this is PAST tense Last weekend, i went shopping on Saturday with my mother to buy clothes for my forthcoming holiday and for my nephews christening, i also went ou for a meal with my mother and my brother and his girlfriend. On sunday i went to boxing in the morning and stayed there till 3pm then i went to horseriding which i stayed at till 6pm. i had a great week end.
